Manliness in 2015- Accepting Reality for What It Is

I’ve been giving a lot of thought to what 2015 should be all about. What is the one thing about men that I would change to make the world a better place.

I would have men accept reality for what it is and deal with it on its own terms.

There would be no room for fancy social theories pulled from the white towers of academia. No utopian dreams. It would be a simple life. Not an easy life, but very straightforward one.

The phrase: “If you don’t work, you die.” Comes to mind. Not that society or the government would force people to work. Wanting to put food in your own belly would make you work. You’d be free to work and become as honestly wealthy as your talents would allow it.

Most of the “isms” would be gone. We’d realize that isms are just personal buggaboos that people want the government to fix so they don’t have to fix themselves. That’s my wish right there: That we would accept reality and stop trying to get rid of personal and private fears by legislating them out of existence. It’s never worked and never will.
